We are the Cleveland Federation of Musicians, Local 4 of the American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada.
The American Federation of Musicians is an AFL-CIO affiliated union representing over 70,000 Professional Musicians in the United States and Canada.
Who Are Local 4 Members?
Local 4 members are professional musicians. The Musicians of The Cleveland Orchestra, Playhouse Square, Cleveland Ballet Orchestra, Cleveland Chamber Symphony, Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, Cleveland POPS Orchestra, BlueWater Chamber Orchestra, Cleveland Play House, and Great Lakes Theatre Festival are Local 4 Members.
Our members are teaching professionals. The faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Music are represented by Local 4, and our members are professors, instructors and teachers at conservatories, community colleges, and municipal and private schools at every level of education.
We are representative of every segment of the live music industry, including recording, symphonic, theatre and touring musicians, songwriters, singers, polka kings, jazz masters, classic rockers, and a diversified variety of soloists, duos, trios, string quartets, brass and woodwind quintets, chamber ensembles, and all styles of bands for your special event.
